I'm not sure I want to "upgrade" to a 1-year license from a lifetime one though. Overall, I like the application and it is easier for me to use in conjunction with Calibre than trying to use Calibre add-ins only from various internet sites. :-( Maybe that was the case last year too and I was mistaken? However, I noticed this time it is only a 1-year license. I think that is exceptional customer service. I contacted Epubor via email and they resolved the issue for me within 24 hours, even though it was a giveaway, and gave me the details on how to reactivate it. My former giveaway copy of this application, the "lifetime" license expired after one year.
The Epubor website provides a workaround in the help section for how to use their application in conjunction with Adobe Digital Editions to remove DRM from these (it's a few extra steps going to where the actual eBook is instead of the pointer). I had some difficulty removing DRM from ebooks that initially download as. epub, but do show the pictures when I use this tool to convert them to. I'll refrain from discussing methods for removing DRM, as that's frowned on here, but I'm sure you can find some references if you do a forum search.I have e-Cookbooks that don't show the pictures as. Once the files were downloaded to my Mac, I used the standard Add feature in Calibre to import them. Instead, I use the "Download & Transfer via USB" option when viewing the list of books in the Manage Your Content & Devices section of the Amazon website. After reading several threads here and elsewhere, I found the best option for me was to bypass downloading the Kindle for Mac app at all. I've tried the new Kindle App, but the way the books download is not a way that I can use the DeDRM tool in Calibre.Īfter years of being stuck on Sierra with my ancient 2010 MacBook Pro, I recently bought a new iMac running Catalina and set about to finally get all my Kindle books into Calibre. But since I'm on Catalina, I can't use that method. I have researched and others say use an older Kindle App on the MAC. Since Amazon changed the cloud reader, I can now longer "download" books. The I used Epubor-kcr-converter to remove the DMR so I could then load them into Calibre. I was using Kindle Cloud reader with Chrome to "download books" bought from Amazon.
